Removals team showed no respect or care for us or our property or our neighbours old and new. They were rude and abusive arrogant and seemed to enjoy being so from the very first. They rushed the whole process from 4 days into 3 from Cheshire to Suffolk. They blocked a highway over night to sleep in lorries out of laziness/ lack of consideration for others - we had to call police. They left many belongings behind we had to employ another company at extra expense to bring them after the move. We were called " retards" to our face for not agreeing to this appalling behaviour - which also included shouting and laughing to disturb our new neighbours, and entirely ruining the relationship we now have with our local community. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS .
E moved this month and we were glad we picked Cheshire Removals to move us. They sent someone out to assess how much furniture etc we had and the quote came back very quickly. They held our removal date whilst the solicitors were getting the sale across the line. On the day they came on time with a suitably sized lorry and were very professional loading it whilst we waited for completion. Once given the green light off we went to the new property and they were equally professional in unloading taking great care and putting our possessions where directed. Many thanks to Jason and Louie for a great job.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! The management of Cheshire Removals Ltd. have informed me in writing that as certain items they damaged due to careless haphazard packing were not designated by me as items that had any value (in other words absolutely everything, as everything has a value) they could not be responsible for how it was packed and any resulting damage caused.
Their failure to acknowledge fault for the following examples of their lack of ability to use common sense when packing what are essentially items in any home, having given them every chance to do so, has resulted in my writing of this review.
Knee length leather boots stored without anything affecting them with boot shaper clip support stands in place which prevent any creasing were seperated from this protection. They were folded at the ankle and shoved without any care of the objects beneath nor on top of them, haphazardly into the box. In fact, three boots were in one box with other shoes, items of clothing and craft items, the fourth boot in another with one of the protective stands imprinting itself on top thanks to heavy objects above. The second of the protective stands was found in another box of completely unrelated items. Every boot has been left creased, some of the creases heavy enough to cause irreparable cracking, basically ruined at an estimated minimum replacement cost of £240.
Coats hung up were removed from their hangers and litterally just stuffed into a cardboard box with no attempt to fold them whatsoever. Amongst them was a new leather jacket creased to the extent of cracking, a rip (potentially caused by a zip) and a brand new, never worn, mole skin effect full length coat which resembled a rubbing rag when retrieved from the tangle of coats. Furthermore, a perfect large dirty footprint decorated the back of this coat. The replacement cost for these would again be easily over £200.
My tie collection of more than 30 years, which was organised carefully on a special rotary presentation hanging device, was seperated from the device that hung every tie clear of anything else and thrown into the bottom of a box, the divice removed from the wardrobe, without the essential fitment that connected it, and placed on top of the pile of ties. The remainder of the box was stuffed with jumpers and knitted material tops, so soft, but without any apparent attempt to keep them folded. Stuffed in enough to crease all of the ties, plus, knitted items were found all hooked up on the tie hanger. Amongst the ties was a pure silk tie a dear old friend had given to me bought in Hong Kong in the 1970's - irreplaceable. Many of the ties cannot be washed or ironed and in my experience, those that can become misshapen when you do so. Many of them irreplaceable due to changes in style over the years, but if I was to attempt to replace them with today's equvelent, the cost would be somewhere in the region of £1000.
Undamaged, just in the need of a good press, were four pairs of very expensive best trousers removed from their hangers an folded in two directions and found in a box of shorts and jeans.
As part of the arrangement with Cheshire Removals Ltd. was that hung items would be transported in a special wardrobe box which allows the items to remain hung, and the items would be rehung at the new property so enabling them to take this back with them. Those that did remain hung, were taken from the rails of two double wardrobes, items of all lengths, and were removed from the box and (somehow?) squeezed into a single double wardrobe, which, having drawers below, was only designed for short items. Hence, every item was creased. A whole wardrobe of ironing would be a nightmare prospect for any one of us, but as a disabled couple, this means a huge bill to pay for someone to iron for us.
Rather than acknowledging any of our complaints Cheshire Removals Ltd. merely threw back their terms and conditions which state any problems are required to be reported within seven days, an unrealistic time frame in which we, as disabled people, were able to keep to. When I pointed out this obvious fact they stated that as we didn't state we would require more time this was on us. In any case, they said if we had requested more time it would only be extended to 14 days. We, for us and our abilities, are doing really well having unpacked four out of five of the boxes already after six weeks, the rest are likely to take a further two or three weeks.
I offered Cheshire Removals Ltd. time to respond with some form of acknowledgement and was honest enough to state that the lack of which would result in negative reviews. They continued to deny all responsibility.
We moved a week ago, in short it was the most stressful move we have ever had. The day of pack up, only two people turned up who only packed about 50% of the house then left. The day of moving again only two people turned up. Packing was slow, I even gave them a hand as the keys were to be available at 2pm. Eventually more packers turned up but too late. The new owners turned up at 4.30pm we still had furniture in the house. This was extremely stressful.
The move into our new house was almost as painful as boxes went into wrong rooms and our carefully labeled “ last box to be packed” went missing so no kettle or bed linen!
We are paying for the poor service a week later with items thrown into boxes with no wrapping along with breakages.
I have twice called to discuss the service. I have been reassured twice that notes to call me have been left on the operation managers desk but still no call. Do not use this company. A truly dreadful service. House moving is stressful enough with this poor service added on top.
